On Friday, 9 January 2026, EARTH SUSTAINABILITY SOLUTIONS conducted two awareness sessions at Christ the King Convent High School, Ponnurunni, focusing on environmental awareness and disaster management. The sessions were organised as part of EARTH’s commitment to promoting environmental understanding, climate awareness, and community engagement through school-level outreach. The programme aimed to introduce students to fundamental concepts related to the environment, natural systems, and climate-related hazards in a structured and age-appropriate manner.
The sessions were designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the environment and the interactions between human activities and natural systems, while also building awareness of climate-related risks and disasters. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, students were introduced to key environmental challenges, the causes and impacts of disasters such as floods, cyclones, and other climate-induced hazards, and the importance of preparedness, safety, and resilience in the context of a changing climate. Emphasis was placed on helping students relate these issues to their local surroundings and everyday experiences.
The sessions witnessed active participation from students, with enthusiastic engagement during discussions and question–answer segments. The programme encouraged students to reflect on their role in caring for nature and responding responsibly to environmental and disaster-related risks. The school management and teachers expressed appreciation for the relevance and clarity of the sessions, and we thank them for their support as we continue our efforts to bridge climate science, environmental awareness, and community action. Through this initiative, EARTH reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening environmental awareness and disaster preparedness among young learners, recognising early education as a key foundation for building long-term climate resilience and responsible environmental behaviour.
